Bexley

It’s largely thanks to a Victorian sewage works that Bexley is known at all. Prior to the construction of this, Bexley was a series of sparsely populated hamlets that suddenly became industrialised in the late 19th century. The restored Crossness Pumping Station is as ornate as the finest Victorian structures, and well worth a visit. Hall Place and Danson House are other historic homes that can be explored. Anyone needing a little greenery can roam around the 88 hectares of Lesnes Abbey Woods. Sitting on the very fringes of London, Bexley offers something a little bit different.
