Scalpay is an island in the United Kingdom located in Scotland in the Outer Hebrides. Scalpay is about 4 km long and has an area of 6.5 km2. Its highest point at Beinn Scorabhaig is only 104m. The island is dotted with small lochs, the most important of which is Duin Loch, which emerges a small island with a fort still visible. Eilean Glas is a small peninsula on the east coast of the island and is home to the first lighthouse built on the Outer Hebrides.

Isle of Scalpay Lighthouse

Eilean Glas Lighthouse is a lighthouse situated on the peninsula of the islet of Eilean Glas, on the east coast of the Isle of Scalpay, in the Outer Hebrides in the northwestern Highlands of Scotland. It is one of the first four lighthouses commissioned by the Commissioners of the Northern Lights (ex-NLB) and the first in the Outer Hebrides. The others are Kinnaird Head Lighthouse, Mull Kintyre Lighthouse, and North Ronaldsay Lighthouse. This lighthouse is managed by the Northern Lighthouse Board (NLB) in Edinburgh, Scotland's coastal marine aid organization. It is now protected as a UK Grade A listed monument.
