The slopes of this striking lone mountain are steep and rocky, best suited to the more experienced hillwalker. Composed mainly of gabbro, Blà Bheinn shares its geological character with the nearby Black Cuillin Ridge, another challenging ascent.
Though difficult, the terrain and views make the journey up Blà Bheinn well worth the effort! The hike's first section passes over a gentle hill along a river, with a couple of small waterfalls providing a picturesque start to the walk. Over time the trail breaks into multiple paths leading to the summit - these can be pretty steep, and parts will require rock face scrambling.
