Scotland Street School opened in 1906; it was designed by the Legendary Scottish architect and artist Charles Rennie Mackintosh. By this point, a mature designer, Mackintosh gave his all to his last commission in Glasgow. The school is a marvel to look at, with leaded glass towers, tiled halls, and carved stonework. The school was in service until 1979 but now operates as a museum to show what schooling was like from the Victorian period up until the 1970s.
