Discover Stirling

Stirling's famous landmark commemorates Sir William Wallace's life while overlooking his victory at the Battle of Stirling Bridge in 1297.  Visitors can see his famous sword and discover how Wallace became an inspiration for a country-reflected in the characters in Scottish history, which are recognized in the magnificent "Hall of Heroes". The crown of the monument is unobstructed, all over the center of Scotland. 

The Stirling Old Bridge is a stone bridge across the Forth River. For more than 300 years, it has provided Forth's lowest crossing point and is therefore of strategic importance. 

Located in the town of Stirling in Scotland, Stirling Castle is one of the largest and most important castles in Scotland, and indeed in Western Europe, both historically and architecturally. Built on 'the castle hill,' a volcanic crag, it is surrounded on three sides by sheer cliffs, making it easy to defend. Together with its strategic position, this feature made it an essential stronghold from the outset, the object of struggle between the Scots and English. Numerous kings and queens of Scotland were born, died, or were crowned here. The castle is a national monument and is now governed by Historic Scotland, the Scottish Historic Buildings Agency.

Stirling Old Town Jail is one of the most acclaimed independent tourist attractions in the heart of Stirling’s Old Town. It has won a TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Award and is only a short walk from Stirling Castle. 

Dollar Glen is a beautiful walking trail filled with rare and varied wildlife habitats, with tall trees, flowing burns, and the ruins of Castle Campbell tucked away within.

The Albert Halls in Stirling has been the city's leading venue for the arts and civil functions for over 100 years; only a few minutes walk from the city center, the venue is the place to see a performance during a stay in the city.

Mar's Wark currently stands as the ruins of a 16th-century townhouse in Stirling, all that remains is the building's facade, but it serves as a look back in time to beautiful renaissance architecture.  

The King's Knot in Stirling is a beautiful green park situated just below the rock of Stirling Castle; the park has a three-tiered octagonal earth feature that gives the park a unique charm and gives one of the best views of Stirling Castle in the City.

Cowane's Hospital is an excellent venue for many of Stirlings events, including music concerts, meetings, and ceilidh dances, with a wonderful coffee shop inside as well.  

Cambuskenneth Abbey in Stirling is a historic monastery and church that is an amazing example of 13th-century architecture and a historic site filled with the history of Scotland's monarchy.  

Menstrie Castle is a beautiful three-story Manor house in Menstrie, Clackmannanshire. It is a fantastic example of 17th-century architecture, a rich history, and a collection of stunning portraits.

The Church of the Holy Rude is one of the oldest buildings in Stirling, being built in the 15th century, and is a fantastic example of gothic architecture and an amazing place for worship.
