Cancellation.
With a small number of rooms and a short season, Doune relies on achieving high levels of occupancy to ensure it can offer good value and reasonable prices to its guests. Because of this and its remote location, cancellations of bookings have a disproportionate effect.
If you need to cancel your booking please provide as much warning as possible. We will do our best to secure a replacement booking and, if successful, we will return your deposit. Because of a growing number of short notice cancellations, we have found it necessary to apply the following cancellation charges where we are unable to secure a replacement booking: Notice period of cancellation before Booking % Cost of Holiday Payable: more than 6 weeks 0%, 3 to 6 weeks 50%, 3 weeks or less 100%.

[PLEASE NOTE ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE DATES ARE TUESDAY & SATURDAYS ONLY] In order to reach us you will be picked up in Mallaig on a Tuesday or Saturday with a minimum of three nights stay. The boat journey is 40 minutes and the cost of the journey will be additional to your accommodation and meals quoted when you book. The return price is £36 per adult and £18 per accompanying child. While staying at Doune, our boat Gripper II is available to explore the surrounding area giving access to the remoter inaccessible walks. These boat trips are charged on a per person per trip basis. Costs are £10-£40 each per trip (accompanying children half-price), depending on destination including an end-of-the-day pickup in Inverie if needed.
